Gillian Shephard, Baroness Shephard of Northwold, is a British Conservative politician and a life peer in the House of Lords. She served as the Member of Parliament for South West Norfolk from 1987 to 2005 and held several high-profile cabinet positions under Prime Minister John Major, including Secretary of State for Education and Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food. Before entering national politics, she worked as an education inspector and in television. She is a former Shadow Leader of the House of Commons and currently serves as the Chairman of the Association of Conservative Peers.
