Gota Hamada is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Konan in Kochi Prefecture. Born in Toyo, Kochi, he graduated from Teikyo University in 1999. Before entering local politics, he worked as a secretary to a member of the National Diet. Hamada was first elected to the Kochi Prefectural Assembly in 2015 and served two terms. In 2022, he resigned from the assembly to successfully run for mayor following the resignation of his predecessor. He was re-elected to the position in 2026.
