Grégoire Owona is a Cameroonian politician and businessman who has served as the Minister of Labour and Social Security since December 2011. A prominent figure in the Cameroon People's Democratic Movement (RDPC), he previously served as Minister Delegate to the Presidency in charge of Relations with the Assemblies from 1997 to 2011. Owona began his political career as a municipal councillor in Douala in 1987 and was elected to the National Assembly in 1988. Known as a loyal supporter of President Paul Biya, he has held various leadership roles within the party, including Deputy Secretary-General of the Central Committee. Throughout his career, he has been involved in constitutional drafting and human rights advocacy, while maintaining a significant presence in the national political landscape.
