Graciela Guzmán is an American politician serving as a member of the Illinois Senate for the 20th district since 2025. Born to refugees of the Salvadorian Civil War, she graduated from Grinnell College with a degree in anthropology. Prior to her election, she worked as an organizer for the Chicago Teachers Union and served as chief of staff to State Senator Christina Pacione-Zayas. In the legislature, she has focused on healthcare access and immigrant rights, including advocating for state-funded health benefits for residents without legal status.
