Greater Chennai Corporation

Priya Rajan is an Indian politician serving as the 46th Mayor of Chennai. A member of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), she made history in March 2022 by becoming the youngest mayor in the city's history at age 28, as well as the first Dalit woman to hold the office. She was elected unopposed following the 2022 Tamil Nadu urban civic body elections, where her party secured an absolute majority in the Greater Chennai Corporation council.
