Greg Piper

Greg Piper is an Australian politician serving as the Speaker of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly. First elected to the Legislative Assembly in 2007 as an independent representing Lake Macquarie, he previously served as the Mayor of the City of Lake Macquarie from 2004 to 2012. Before entering politics, Piper worked for over 25 years as a nurse at Morisset Hospital. He describes his political stance as socially progressive, left-leaning, and fiscally cautious, maintaining a staunchly independent position throughout his career.
