Guðlaugur Þór Þórðarson is an Icelandic politician who has served as a member of the Althing since 2003. Throughout his career, he has held several high-level government positions, including Minister for the Environment, Energy and Climate from 2021 to 2024, Minister for Foreign Affairs from 2017 to 2021, and Minister of Health from 2007 to 2009. A member of the Independence Party, he previously served on the Reykjavík City Council. He is a strong proponent of Iceland's membership in the European Economic Area but opposes joining the European Union.
