Njáll Trausti Friðbertsson is an Icelandic politician and a member of the Althing, representing the Independence Party. Born in Reykjavík in 1969, he has served as a member of Iceland's parliament since his election in 2016 for the Northeast constituency. Prior to his political career, he worked as an air traffic controller in Akureyri starting in 1992. He holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Akureyri, which he earned in 2004. In addition to his professional and political life, he is known for his interest in sports, having won the Icelandic fantasy football competition in 1994.
