Stefán Vagn Stefánsson is an Icelandic politician serving as a member of the Althing for the Progressive Party, representing the Northwest Constituency. Born in 1972, he began his career in law enforcement, serving as a police officer in Sauðárkrókur and Reykjavík, and working with the National Police Commissioner's Special Unit. He also served as a peacekeeper in Afghanistan from 2006 to 2007. Before entering national politics, he was active in local government, serving on the municipal council of Skagafjörður and chairing the government's Northwest Committee. He was first elected to the Icelandic Parliament in 2021 and was re-elected in 2024.
