Gwen Boniface

Gwen Boniface is a Canadian politician and former police official who served as a member of the Senate of Canada representing Ontario from 2016 to 2025. Before her appointment to the Senate, she had a distinguished career in law enforcement, notably serving as the first female commissioner of the Ontario Provincial Police from 1998 to 2006. Throughout her career, she has been recognized for her work with First Nations communities and her leadership in international policing associations. In the Senate, she sat as an independent member and co-chaired the Special Joint Committee on the Declaration of Emergency.
