He first entered the Lok Sabha following a successful by-election in 2021, which was held after the passing of incumbent Nandkumar Singh Chauhan. Patil subsequently secured re-election in the 2024 Lok Sabha general elections, defeating his opponent from the Indian National Congress by a significant margin. He represents the Bharatiya Janata Party and continues to serve his constituency in the lower house of the Indian Parliament.
