Hachiro Nitta is the Governor of Toyama Prefecture, first elected in 2020 and re-elected in 2024. Before entering politics, he had a long career in the private sector, notably serving as the president of Nihonkai Gas and Nihonkai Gas絆 Holdings, as well as holding leadership roles in the Japan Junior Chamber. A graduate of Hitotsubashi University, Nitta entered the political arena as an independent candidate, emphasizing administrative reform and a 'vibrant' approach to prefectural governance.
