Hak-Soo Lee is a prominent South Korean business executive who served as the Vice Chairman of Samsung Electronics and the head of the Samsung Group's Strategic Planning Office. Often regarded as the second-in-command during the era of Chairman Lee Kun-hee, he played a pivotal role in navigating the conglomerate through the 1997 Asian financial crisis and overseeing major corporate restructuring. Throughout his career, he held key leadership positions across various Samsung affiliates, including Cheil Industries and Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance. He retired from frontline management in 2010 following a period of significant internal transition within the group.
