Hakan Demir is a German politician and a member of the Social Democratic Party (SPD). Born in Turkey and raised in Krefeld, he studied political science, philosophy, and business administration before entering politics. Demir worked in the parliamentary office of Karamba Diaby and was co-editor of the magazine MiGAZIN. Elected to the Bundestag in 2021 for the Berlin-Neukölln constituency, he serves on the Committee on Internal Affairs and is a member of the Parliamentary Left movement. He is also active in migration and diversity advocacy within the SPD.
