Thorsten Klute is a German politician and member of the Landtag of North Rhine-Westphalia, representing the Gütersloh I – Bielefeld III constituency since 2022. A member of the Social Democratic Party (SPD), he previously served as the Mayor of Versmold from 2004 to 2013 and as State Secretary for Integration in the North Rhine-Westphalian Ministry for Labour, Integration and Social Affairs from 2013 to 2017. Klute is a trained lawyer and has been deeply involved in fostering German-Polish relations, having received multiple honors for his commitment to cross-border dialogue. He currently serves as the health and care policy spokesperson for the SPD parliamentary group.
