Helen Burnet

Helen Burnet is an Australian politician serving as a member of the Tasmanian House of Assembly for the division of Clark. First elected in 2024, she currently holds the parliamentary office of Chair of Committees and serves as the Deputy Speaker. Prior to her state-level career, she was a long-serving member of the Hobart City Council and held the position of Deputy Lord Mayor of Hobart. Originally a member of the Greens, she resigned from the party in January 2026 to sit as an independent member on the crossbench, citing concerns regarding the representation of her constituents' interests.
