Hendrik Schmitz

Hendrik Schmitz is a German politician and a member of the Landtag of North Rhine-Westphalia. Born in Aachen and raised in Baesweiler, he studied law at the University of Bonn before taking over his family's agricultural business. A long-time member of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), Schmitz has served in various local political roles, including the Baesweiler city council. He first entered the state parliament in 2012, and after a brief hiatus, he returned to the Landtag in 2019 before winning a direct mandate in the Aachen III constituency in 2022.
