Hervé Gaymard is a French politician who has served as the President of the Departmental Council of Savoie since 2008, having previously held the position from 1999 to 2002. A graduate of the École nationale d'administration, he has had a long career in national government, serving as Minister of Agriculture and later as Minister of Economy, Finance and Industry. Throughout his career, he has been a prominent figure in the RPR and later The Republicans party, and he is also a member of the Académie des sciences morales et politiques.
