Marisol Touraine

Marisol Touraine is a French politician who served as the Minister of Social Affairs and Health from 2012 to 2017 under Prime Ministers Jean-Marc Ayrault, Manuel Valls, and Bernard Cazeneuve. A graduate of the Paris Institute of Political Studies and the École Normale Supérieure, she previously served as a member of the National Assembly for Indre-et-Loire and as the President of the General Council of Indre-et-Loire. During her ministerial tenure, she implemented significant health reforms, including the introduction of plain tobacco packaging and the modernization of the French healthcare system. Since leaving government, she has served as the chair of the Executive Board of Unitaid.
