Hidekazu Kaito is a Japanese politician currently serving as a member of the Shiga Prefectural Assembly, where he was elected as the 117th Vice-Chair in 2026. A graduate of Ryukoku University, he began his career as a civil servant in the former Shin-Asahi Town office before entering local politics. He served as a town council member, the final Mayor of Shin-Asahi, and the first Mayor of Takashima City following municipal consolidation. Throughout his career, he has held various leadership roles in prefectural assembly committees, focusing on regional administration and crisis management.
