Hideyasu Kiyomoto is a Japanese politician, physician, and medical researcher currently serving as the Mayor of Himeji. Born in Himeji, he earned a doctorate in medicine from Kagawa Medical University and held academic positions at the University of Texas and Tohoku University, where he served as a professor. Following his experience providing medical support after the Great East Japan Earthquake, he entered politics and was first elected Mayor of Himeji in 2019. Known for his medical background, he famously performed emergency life-saving procedures on a performer who collapsed during a public event in 2019.
