Koko Hara is a Japanese politician serving as a member of the Akita Prefectural Assembly. Born in 1970, she is the daughter of the late prefectural assembly member Seiichi Hara. After graduating from Akita Prefectural Omagari High School and completing the 10th term of the Liberal Democratic Party's Kanagawa Political School, she worked for the Akita Prefectural Social Welfare Corporation. First elected to the prefectural assembly in 2007, she has since been re-elected multiple times. Her political career has been notably focused on addressing regional medical disparities in Akita, a cause she championed following her father's passing.
