Hildur Björnsdóttir

Hildur Björnsdóttir is an Icelandic politician serving as the Mayor of Reykjavík since June 2026. A member of the Independence Party, she previously served as a member of the Reykjavík City Council starting in 2018, where she held various committee roles. Educated in law and political science, she has been a prominent figure in local politics, advocating for administrative efficiency, tax reduction, and housing market development. Before her political career, she worked as a lawyer and served as the chair of the Student Council at the University of Iceland.
