Hillary Hickland is an American politician currently serving as a member of the Texas House of Representatives for the 55th district. Born in Jasper, Texas, she pursued her higher education at Baylor University, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in 2005, followed by a Master's degree from Boston University in 2009. Hickland entered the political arena by defeating incumbent Hugh Shine in the 2024 Republican primary and subsequently won the general election in November 2024. She officially assumed office on January 14, 2025.
