Hillary Scholten is an American politician and attorney serving as the U.S. Representative for Michigan's 3rd congressional district since 2023. Before her election to Congress, she worked as an attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice and in private practice, specializing in immigration law. A member of the Democratic Party, she is known for her advocacy on housing and immigration issues. Scholten made history as the first woman to represent her district and the first Democrat to represent Grand Rapids in Congress in decades. She serves on the Committee on Small Business and the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure.
