After retiring from his municipal post in 2019, he transitioned to agriculture before entering electoral politics. He was elected to the Ina City Council in 2022, where he served until resigning in 2025 to run for mayor. In April 2026, he won the mayoral election, defeating the incumbent candidate in a contest characterized by a conservative split.
