吉田健一

Kenichi Yoshida is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Nerima Ward in Tokyo. Born and raised in Nerima, he graduated from Waseda University and initially worked as a secretary for a Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly member before transitioning into business, where he managed a kindergarten and local commercial enterprises. After an unsuccessful bid for the ward mayoralty in 2022, he ran as an independent candidate in 2026 and was elected, defeating the candidate supported by the Liberal Democratic Party and Governor Yuriko Koike. His platform has notably included a proposal to abolish the mayor's office to improve administrative transparency.
