Hisato Tamiya is a Japanese politician and former bureaucrat serving as a member of the House of Representatives for the Liberal Democratic Party, representing Chiba's 9th district. Born in Sakura, Chiba, he graduated from the University of Tokyo and spent over a decade in the Ministry of Finance, where he held various roles including positions in the Tax Bureau and as a secretary to the Prime Minister. During his bureaucratic career, he earned a Master of Public Administration from Columbia University. After leaving the ministry in 2023, he entered politics and was elected to the Diet in the 2026 general election.
