柴山昌彦

Masahiko Shibayama is a Japanese politician and lawyer serving as a member of the House of Representatives, currently in his ninth term. A graduate of the University of Tokyo, he worked briefly at Sumitomo Realty & Development before entering politics. Throughout his career, he has held several high-level government positions, including Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Minister of State for Internal Affairs and Communications, and Special Advisor to the Prime Minister. Within the Liberal Democratic Party, he has served in key roles such as Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Fundamental National Policies and Acting Policy Research Council Chairman. Shibayama is known for his conservative policy stances, including a cautious approach to selective married-surname systems and opposition to same-sex marriage, while focusing on education reform, cultural heritage protection, and national security policy.
