Hoan Huynh

Hoan Huynh is an American politician serving as a member of the Illinois House of Representatives for the 13th district since 2023. Born in Vietnam to Vietnamese Chinese parents, he immigrated to the United States as a refugee in the early 1990s. Huynh made history as the first Vietnamese American elected to the Illinois General Assembly. An alumnus of Yale, Cambridge, and Harvard, he has focused his legislative career on policy advocacy and community representation. In 2025, he announced his candidacy for the U.S. House of Representatives in Illinois's ninth Congressional district.
