Hugo Swire is a British politician and life peer who has served as a member of the House of Lords since 2022. Previously, he was the Member of Parliament for East Devon from 2001 to 2019, during which time he held several ministerial positions, including Minister of State for Northern Ireland and Minister of State for Europe and the Americas. Before entering politics, Swire served in the Grenadier Guards and worked in the arts and auction sectors, including roles at the National Gallery and Sotheby's. He is currently the Deputy Chairman of the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council.
