Mark Sedwill

Mark Sedwill, Baron Sedwill, is a British diplomat, senior civil servant, and member of the House of Lords. He served as Cabinet Secretary and Head of the Home Civil Service from 2018 to 2020, and as the United Kingdom National Security Adviser from 2017 to 2020. Throughout his extensive diplomatic career, he held key roles including Ambassador to Afghanistan and Permanent Under-Secretary of State at the Home Office. Since his retirement from the civil service, he has served as a senior adviser to various international firms and holds several honorary and board positions, including chairman of the Atlantic Future Forum.
