Peter Hennessy, Baron Hennessy of Nympsfield, is a British historian, academic, and crossbench life peer in the House of Lords. A specialist in the history of government and the British constitution, he has served as the Attlee Professor of Contemporary British History at Queen Mary University of London since 1992. Before his elevation to the peerage in 2010, he enjoyed a distinguished career in journalism, working for The Times, The Financial Times, and The Economist.
