Hulusi Akar

Hulusi Akar is a Turkish politician and retired four-star general who currently serves as a member of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. Before entering politics, he had a distinguished military career, serving as the 29th Chief of the Turkish General Staff from 2015 to 2018 and as the Minister of National Defense from 2018 to 2023. Known for his role in managing Turkish military operations in Syria and Iraq, he is a prominent figure within the Justice and Development Party. Akar holds a doctorate from Boğaziçi University and has extensive experience in international military diplomacy.
