Huri Sahin

Huri Sahin is a Dutch politician of Turkish descent who has served as the Mayor of Rijswijk since December 12, 2022. Before her mayoral appointment, she held various roles in public administration and civil society, including project management positions at the Association of Netherlands Municipalities and the Kinderrechtencollectief. Her political career began in 2002 as a municipal councilor in Zoetermeer, followed by service as a faction leader in the South Holland Provincial States and as an alderman in Oegstgeest. Sahin is noted for her advocacy against femicide and her commitment to evidence-based administrative decision-making.
