I. Periyasamy is an Indian politician currently serving as the Minister of Rural Development and Panchayats in the Government of Tamil Nadu. A long-standing member of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), he has held several ministerial portfolios throughout his career, including Small Industries, Revenue and Housing, and Co-operation. First elected to the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly in 1989, he has represented the Athoor constituency for multiple terms. Throughout his tenure, he has focused on rural infrastructure development, land revenue modernization, and the expansion of social welfare programs.
