Ian Murray

Ian Murray is a British Labour Party politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for Edinburgh South since 2010. A member of the Fabian Society, he previously held the position of Secretary of State for Scotland from 2024 to 2025 and currently serves as a Minister of State in the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology. Before his parliamentary career, Murray worked in pensions management and event coordination, and served as a City of Edinburgh Councillor. He is known for his long-standing opposition to Scottish independence and his advocacy for Labour Party interests in Scotland.
