Tatsunori Ibayashi is a Japanese politician and former bureaucrat serving as a member of the House of Representatives. Born in Tokyo and raised in a tea-farming family in Shizuoka, he graduated from Kyoto University before joining the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. First elected to the Diet in 2012, he has held various government positions, including Parliamentary Vice-Minister of the Environment and Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Cabinet Office, as well as State Minister of Cabinet Office. In 2025, he made parliamentary history when he became the first House of Representatives committee chair to be removed from office by a resolution under the current Constitution, following a dispute over a gasoline tax bill. He maintains a conservative political stance, supporting constitutional reform while expressing opposition to the creation of emergency clauses and the abolition of the current electoral system for the House of Councillors.
