Hisayuki Fujii is a Japanese politician and former bureaucrat currently serving as a member of the House of Representatives. A graduate of the University of Tokyo, he began his career at the Ministry of Home Affairs before serving as Deputy Mayor of Hikone. Since his first election to the Diet in 2012, he has held several high-level government positions, including State Minister for Foreign Affairs, State Minister of Cabinet Office, and State Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. He currently serves as the Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. Fujii is known for his policy focus on regional revitalization, agricultural reform, and digital transformation, and he maintains a conservative stance on issues such as the selective separate surname system for married couples.
