Ichiro Miyashita is a Japanese politician serving as a member of the House of Representatives, currently in his eighth term. Born in Nagoya in 1958, he is the son of former cabinet minister Sohei Miyashita. After graduating from the University of Tokyo and working at Sumitomo Bank, he entered politics as a secretary to his father before being elected to the Diet in 2003. Throughout his career, he has held several key positions, including Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, State Minister of Cabinet Office, and State Minister of Finance. Politically, he is known for his conservative stances, supporting constitutional reform, the exercise of the right to collective self-defense, and the necessity of nuclear power. He has also served as the chairman of the Liberal Democratic Party's Nagano Prefecture branch.
