Ilmari Nurminen

Ilmari Nurminen is a Finnish politician currently serving as the Mayor of Tampere. Previously, he served as a member of the Parliament of Finland representing the Pirkanmaa constituency from 2015 to 2025, where he was the youngest member of the parliament at the time of his initial election. Throughout his career, Nurminen has been a vocal advocate for the rights of the elderly and has held leadership roles in various parliamentary networks, including those focused on music and LGBT issues. He was elected as the chair of the Tampere City Council in 2021 and subsequently won the 2025 municipal election to become the mayor of the city.
