Imran Hussain is a British Labour politician and barrister who has served as the Member of Parliament for Bradford East since 2015. Born in Bradford in 1978, he previously served as a local councillor and Deputy Leader of the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council. Throughout his parliamentary career, Hussain has held several shadow ministerial roles, including Shadow Minister for Employment Rights. Known for his left-wing political stance, he has been a vocal advocate for humanitarian causes, notably resigning from the shadow cabinet in 2023 over the party's position on the Gaza war. He remains an active member of the House of Commons.
