Jörg Volleth is a German politician serving as the Mayor of Erlangen since May 2026. A member of the Christian Social Union (CSU), he previously served as the city's Second Mayor and head of the department for sports, health, and civil protection starting in 2020. Before his full-time political career, Volleth worked for many years as a police officer in Munich and Erlangen. He is known for his opposition to the proposed regional light rail project connecting Nuremberg, Erlangen, and Herzogenaurach.
