Jörg Zirwes

Jörg Zirwes is a German politician who has served as a member of the Bundestag since 2025. Before entering federal politics, he had a long career as a professional soldier in the Bundeswehr, serving from 1988 to 2023 and reaching the rank of Oberstabsfeldwebel. He participated in international missions in the former Yugoslavia and Afghanistan. A member of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) since 2017, he holds local leadership roles in Cochem-Zell and serves on the Bundestag's defense and petition committees.
