Jürgen Treutler is a German politician and member of the Landtag of Thuringia, representing the Sonneberg I constituency since 2024. A trained engineer, he spent much of his professional career in technical management roles within the water and energy sectors before entering politics. He joined the AfD in 2017 and has served as a member of the Sonneberg district council since 2019, later becoming the chairman of the Sonneberg city council in 2024. As the eldest member of the 8th Thuringian Landtag, he served as the interim president during its inaugural session in September 2024, where his procedural decisions faced significant legal challenges regarding the assembly's rules of order.
