Jacqui Smith

Jacqui Smith is a British politician and life peer who currently serves as a Member of the House of Lords and Minister of State for Skills. A member of the Labour Party, she previously served as the Member of Parliament for Redditch from 1997 to 2010 and was the first woman to hold the office of Home Secretary from 2007 to 2009. Before her parliamentary career, she worked as an economics and business studies teacher. Throughout her tenure in government, she held various ministerial positions, including Chief Whip and Minister of State for Schools, and has remained an active figure in public life as a commentator and policy advisor.
