James Murray

James Murray is a British Labour and Co-operative politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for Ealing North since 2019. Appointed Secretary of State for Health and Social Care in May 2026, he previously held roles as Chief Secretary to the Treasury and Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury. Before entering Parliament, he served as the Deputy Mayor of London for Housing, where he championed initiatives to increase affordable home construction. Educated at Wadham College, Oxford, Murray began his political career as a councillor in Islington.
