Andrew Lansley is a British Conservative politician and life peer who has served as a member of the House of Lords since 2015. Previously, he was the Member of Parliament for South Cambridgeshire from 1997 to 2015. During his career in the House of Commons, he held several senior cabinet positions, most notably serving as Secretary of State for Health from 2010 to 2012, where he spearheaded the controversial Health and Social Care Act 2012, and later as Leader of the House of Commons. Before his parliamentary career, he worked in the civil service and held various strategic roles within the Conservative Party, including running the party's campaign for the 1992 general election.
