Liz Truss is a British politician who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and Leader of the Conservative Party from September to October 2022. Known as the shortest-serving prime minister in British history, she previously held various Cabinet positions, including Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, Secretary of State for International Trade, and Lord Chancellor. Before entering Parliament in 2010, she worked as a chartered management accountant and deputy director of the think tank Reform. A graduate of Merton College, Oxford, she has been a prominent advocate for free-market economic policies and tax reform throughout her political career.
