Nus Ghani is a British Conservative Party politician serving as the Member of Parliament for Sussex Weald since 2024, having previously represented the Wealden constituency from 2015. In 2024, she was elected as Chairman of Ways and Means, serving as a senior Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons. Throughout her career, she has held various ministerial roles, including Minister of State for Europe and Minister of State for Industry and Economic Security. Ghani is noted for being the first female Muslim minister to speak from the House of Commons despatch box and has been a vocal advocate for human rights, particularly regarding the treatment of Uyghurs in China.
